Sometimes it is not a hundred small things but a single hidden fault that slows the whole website down. That was the case here, and finding it was the most important step.
Where it started
MeisterDach has a clean, fast-loading website and does excellent work on the roof. Even so, for “Dachdecker Lüneburg” (roofer Lüneburg) the business did not show up where it belongs, and in AI answers it hardly appeared at all. Nothing looked wrong on the surface, which is what made it tricky: the website looks good and quietly loses jobs in the background.

The moment it clicked
A thorough audit earns its keep by showing which few things cause the many symptoms. A long list of defects alone would not. At MeisterDach it was exactly two.
Cause 1
A wrong phone number that seeps into everything
Deep in the theme sat an outdated phone number, hard-coded into the meta description and from there into the page title and the website’s data sheet, while the visible text showed the current number. This one inconsistency did damage in several places at once: Google’s assessment, the structured data, the local trust signals and recognition by AI systems. One clean fix therefore cleared several problems at once.
Cause 2
All the content lives on a single page
All the real text sat on the home page, while the individual service pages were empty or unfinished template placeholders, one of them completely empty and still online. A real, filled page for every single service is the strongest lever there is, for Google rankings just as much as for being named in AI answers.
The diagnosis across seven dimensions
The full audit looks at the whole picture, well beyond “is the page fast”. This was the starting point, 47 out of 100 overall:
The bars show at once where the lever sits: in content, structured data and AI visibility. Technology and speed were already solid.
And this is how it looks today
Four weeks later, measured with the same method: 75 out of 100. Content, schema data and AI visibility, red above, have moved the furthest.
Images and performance are unchanged at 65, as the diagnosis intended: the lever was never there. The work went where it hurt.
Both causes are dealt with
The report had named two causes. Both are cleared, and with them the symptoms that hung on them. Eleven findings are marked fixed in total, among them all five critical ones. Every point was checked on the live site after the change, rather than ticked off because someone said “done”:
Done and checked live
- The phone number is straightened out. Cause 1. The outdated number is gone from the theme; the page title, the description and the data sheet now all show the same one.
- Every service has a real page. Cause 2. Empty template placeholders became full pages for each trade, plus a hub that holds them together.
- The business is marked up as a roofer in Lüneburg. The local data profile is in place, with the matching business type instead of a generic entry.
- AI search engines may read the site. Before, a protection rule locked out the crawlers of ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, and letting them in is the basic requirement for appearing in AI answers at all.
- Technical polish. Security headers set, the detour through two redirects on page load removed, the zoom lock on phones lifted.
The result that counts most
The most interesting number is not on the scorecard. Since the first audit we have been asking an AI the same question, the way a customer would ask it: “Dachdecker in Lüneburg für eine Dachsanierung” (a roofer in Lüneburg for a roof renovation).
Measured in August 2026
- MeisterDach is named in 4 of 5 test answers. Tested with ChatGPT and Perplexity. At the first audit the business did not appear there.
- Named does not yet mean linked. So far none of the answers links to meisterdach.info. That is the next step, which is why it appears further down the plan.
What comes next
An audit keeps going after the last tick. The points at the top now aim at jobs, the basics are done:
- A page for emergency service and storm damageThe search with the strongest buying intent of all, and so far there is no page for it. The biggest lever left.
- A second way to get in touchToday every route leads to the phone. Someone on the sofa in the evening writes rather than calls.
- Map, reviews, Google profileStrengthen visibility and trust where customers look first.
- Two or three location pages for the surrounding areaFor the neighbouring towns the jobs come from, once the structure holds.
- Prices, costs and frequent questionsThe answers an AI likes to quote most, because they fit in one sentence.
- Visibility for applicantsA topic of its own with its own measurement: asked about apprenticeship companies in the region, AI names six roofing firms, MeisterDach is not among them.
How we measure success
We work with numbers you can check, and promise no position one. Two of them are in:
Measuring goes on, with the same method and the same question. That is what makes a later value comparable with an earlier one, and it shows the work in real numbers.
“I set up our website myself with WordPress, but then I never had the time for a thorough optimisation. To be honest, I was also sceptical whether there was anything left to gain. Fabian took his time to look at everything and found a fault we did not even know existed. He showed me where the problem was, and the first things were done within a few days. Finally someone who speaks plainly and just gets on with it.”
